More than One Billion People Face Some Form of Disability. Landmark UN Report Finds.

More than one billion people worldwide experience some form of disability, the United Nations and the World Bank said today in a report that calls for the elimination of barriers that often force the people with disabilities to “the margins of society.”

Towards a National Carer Strategy- a discussion paper from the Australian Government

A discussion paper has been prepared by the Australian Government as a basis for consultation with carers, carer support organisations, service providers and the community on the development of the National Carer Strategy (Strategy).

States fail to deliver beds for the disabled.

Investigations have revealed a $100 million Commonwealth grant aimed at relieving an accommodation crisis for the severely disabled has created just 40 of a targeted 300 new residential care beds.
