Wheelchair Standards Questions

At the moment the ME 067 Committee of Standards Australia - Mobility Appliances for
People with a Disability - are reviewing the AS/NZ 3696 part 19, looking at
wheelchairs being used as seats in vehicles.

Melbourne Medical Companion Project (Vline - Flinders Street & Southern Cross Stations)

This project will provide a group of volunteers (coordinated by Travellers Aid) who will meet regional travellers at either the Flinders Street or Southern Cross Station platforms and/or bus terminals, in order to accompany them to attend their medical appointments at any of the city-based hospitals or specialist medical clinics.

Better Start for Children with Disability (Better Start) Initiative

Better Start for Children with Disabiltiy (Better Start) initiative.

From 1 July 2011, eligible children diagnosed with a sight or hearing impairment, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy or Fragile X syndrome will have access to funding and new Medicare items under the Better Start for Children with Disability (Better Start) initiative.

The Adam Scott Foundation was formed in 2005 and aims to support disadvantaged and underprivileged youth by providing opportunities to fulfill potential or overcome difficulties throughout life’s journey.

In 2010, the Adam Scott Foundation wishes to provide opportunity to improve the lives of young people living with Autism, through improved communication and education.

Young people with disabilities invited to have their say about a Life-Time Care and Support Scheme.

The Youth Disability Advocacy Service (YDAS) wants to help young people (12-25yo) have their say about a Life-Time Care and Support Scheme. We want to help young people tell the Government about:
